Decimals using algorthm

Today In LS2 in our Group we learned about how to add up decimals using algorithms, after learning and exploring what the square roots we’re everyone in the group looked forward to looking for our new topic, this new topic was called decimals but for the meantime we are still on the adding up part.

While doing decimals, we should always put to mind to put the decimal points and numbers all a linded. During this lesson me and my group mates knew how to add them up because it’s just like regular adding of numbers, but the only new thing we had to remember was that there was a decimal every after a number. Though this lesson was very fun we also had a very great understanding on how we can do it now, we also helped each other on how we can get the correct answers.

Lowest common multiple

LI: How to identify multiples of numbers and find LCM of two numbers

In group 4B we are learnign how to identify lowest common multiples.. when finding the (LSM) we have to list there diffrent multiple in order. The LCM is the smallest multiple in any munbers for examle: the LCM of 4 and 5 is 20 its just numbers that can make a number thats able to be halfed.

Kapa Haka TOD

On May 29 it was a teachers only day at panmure bridge and Kapa Haka did a performance for the teachers. At the performance there were more than 100+ principles and teachers.  When everyone arrived, the girls and boys moved into sepreate classes to change into our Kapa haka uniforms and after getting our mokos done, we rehearsing our songs and along with practicing our waiata the karakia group also had one more practice. Once we were ready and finished we walk down the ramp and we hoped up on the stage ready to go.

Square roots

LI: How to calculate square roots of numbers.

In maths we are learning how to calculate square roots of numbers. A square root of a number is a value that, when multiplied by itself gives the original number.

Describe it as the “undo button” for multiplying a number by itself. It answers the question: What number times itself gives us this starting number?

Tree Octopus

LI: To teach students the golden rule of research to check other sources to verify information.

LS2 got given a research challenge. we were researtching the about the Nrth West Tree Octupus, along with  researtching we weren’t allowed to go on any other sites apart from the one we got given to use. While we were researtching we found out the tree octopus is a haox. This lessen tought us to not always trust the first thing you see on the internet and not everything is true.

Mood-O-Meter

LI: To identify and explain the changing moods in a text.

In reading, my partner and I created a Mood-O-Meter based on Chapters 19 to 20 of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. We tracked how the mood changed throughout the chapters and connected different emotions to important events in the story. Some of the moods we included were hopeful, nervous, devastated, and furious.

While working on this task, we discussed how Shmuel betrayed Bruno  and not tell him the consequences that would of happened. We also discussed how Shmuel and Brunos emotions through out the story.

Mood, Atmosphere and Characterisation C18

Today, we talked about stories and the people in them. We learned about how stories can make us feel happy or scared. We learned about the special feeling in the place or time of the story. We learned about two types of characters: Round characters, who have lots of different traits, and Flat characters, who are only good at one or two things. We also learned who the main character is and who is the bad character fighting against them. We made a simple chart to help other people understand these ideas easily. We worked with friends, each sharing one idea, and then put all the ideas together in a picture or chart. The goal was to make a quick and easy way to understand how stories work.

Learning conversation C16

LI: To use AI to create an image that shows the contrast between events or charcters.

For reading we have been learning about Contrast. Contrast is another word for differnce an example for this is Bruno and Shmuel, Bruno is very clean and not treated poorly and Shmuel is treated poorly and not clean.  We used AI nanno banana to help us create the image to show the difference between them.

Learning conversation C15

We have finished reading chapter 15, and we also got some new questions about the Chapter to awnser. These questions are about what we think are the abstract noun and the atmosphere ( the vide around you and how it feels ) in the story. The other question relate to Bruno’s fellings and how he responds to Shmuel. The picture we created we used AI to generate the image we just had to put a prompt that we thought would be good and sute the atmosphere.
